Had a great opportunity today to visit the historic Decatur House with the DC Tour Guild!
Located just steps from the White House on Lafayette Square, Decatur House is one of Washington, DC’s historic treasures, with more than 200 years of stories connected to the people and events that shaped our nation’s capital.
One of the things I enjoy most about being part of the DC tourism community is continuing to learn about the history that surrounds us — even in places we may pass by every day.
A big thank you to the @dctourguild for organizing today’s visit and giving us the opportunity to take a closer look inside this fascinating piece of Washington history.

Inspiring a new chapter of gratitude and respect, we had the privilege of escorting a group of courageous Vietnam Veterans from the 4th Infantry Division, along with their spouses, on a poignant journey through @arlingtonnatl`s Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, WWII Memorial, and the iconic Lincoln Memorial, expertly guided by Tom. We kicked off the day with a warm welcome from @embassysuites Springfield, and tomorrow, we`ll embark on a new adventure to @mount_vernon

of Washington D.C.
I really enjoyed the tour and learning so much more about George Washington, his life, and the many interesting stories surrounding him. There was a lot of history packed into the visit, and the stories really brought it all to life.
One of the highlights was going up to the balcony, about 300 feet above Alexandria, where you get a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area. It’s an impressive perspective and definitely worth seeing.
A fascinating place, a great tour, and lots of history. If you’re visiting Alexandria or looking for something a little different to experience in the DC area, this is definitely worth checking out.
